Bomaid Launches ‘Thrive with Bomaid’ Powered by VivaScore®
BOTSWANA, April 8, 2026 — The Botswana Medical Aid Society (Bomaid) has announced the public launch of Thrive with Bomaid, a fully branded digital wellness platform powered by VivaScore®.
The launch represents a major step forward for digital wellness in Botswana, bringing an AI-driven health intelligence application directly into Bomaid's medical aid offering and making it available free to Bomaid customers on iOS and Android.
Thrive with Bomaid allows customers to complete a contactless health scan using their smartphone camera and track important health metrics including blood pressure, heart rate, BMI, stress, and emotional wellbeing.
The platform uses more than 70 data points to create a personalized VivaScore® that dynamically adapts as new health information becomes available.
Users can also connect leading health apps, home-monitoring technology, and wearable devices to bring their health information together into a single unified view.
A New Chapter for Customer Wellness
Thrive with Bomaid is designed to go beyond traditional health tracking.
Customers receive personalized weekly health reports, AI-powered nudges that encourage positive behavior change, goal-setting tools, and access to a wellness content library containing more than 700 articles and audio resources.
A points and rewards system encourages ongoing participation by turning everyday healthy actions into measurable progress.
The platform also integrates with Bomaid's customer administration environment, with data exchange managed according to applicable consent, privacy, governance, and data-sharing controls.

Launch
The official launch took place at Virgin Active in Gaborone on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
The event included live demonstrations of the Thrive with Bomaid application, branded wellness stations, and health consultations, connecting the platform's digital health capabilities with physical wellbeing.
The public launch followed an ongoing three-month pilot involving Bomaid's Well@Work corporate cohort.
The pilot included employees from organizations such as Engen, PPC, NMI and AVIS, alongside other corporate clients including Debswana, and was designed to evaluate user adoption and sustained engagement while providing feedback for continued improvements to the platform.
